Job Description
Sajee GmbH is a premier dining establishment located in the heart of Zürich, specializing in authentic Indian cuisine. We pride ourselves on offering a diverse menu that spans the rich culinary traditions of both South and North India, along with expertly crafted tandoori dishes. We are seeking a talented and experienced Indian Cook to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional dining experiences to our patrons.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes from both South and North Indian cuisines, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts.
- Expertly handle tandoori cooking, including marinating meats and vegetables, and cooking them to perfection in a tandoor oven.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to the restaurant's recipes and standards, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
- Manage and oversee kitchen staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor food stock and place orders as necessary, ensuring fresh and high-quality ingredients are always available.
- Collaborate with the head chef and management to develop new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Ensure timely and efficient preparation of meals during busy service periods.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and food safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Indian Cook, with expertise in both South and North Indian cuisines.
- Proficiency in tandoori cooking techniques and use of a tandoor oven.
- Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking methods.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to providing outstanding customer experiences.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards in the kitchen.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
